Laurus Network

The office of the Land Association of the Conpossessorate and Urbaiat Šalková informs its members.

The Land Association of the Compossessorate and Urbariat Šalková is gathering valuable experience within the European project SMURF (Sustainable Management models and valUe chains foR small Forests) funded by the Horizon Europe program.

This is the first time that our land community works with a team of experts and researchers at the European level, which brings a lot of new experience. Representatives of associations, federations, confederations, communities or cooperatives of small forest owners. across Europe are asking similar questions:

  • How to make small forest estates more profitable and sustainable despite their fragmentation?
  • Where to get an overview of new procedures or regulations and how to implement them in practice?
  • What new business opportunities and ideas can you offer to your members?

The creation of the LAURUS network is intended to strengthen the technical staff of European forest owners‘ organisations through innovation, training and networking.

At Laurus, you will find three pillars of support:

  • Professional training – a series of webinars aimed at transferring specific experience from the management of small forest estates.
  • Innovation opportunities – an overview of the latest approaches, collaboration models and business solutions that bring practical improvements on the ground.
  • Valuable connections – direct contact with managers and experts who have already successfully implemented such solutions, and a community where ideas, materials and lessons are shared.

The goal of the network is clear: to improve the entire value chain of Europe’s small-scale forest estates – from backstand decision-making to new sources of income. Members will gain access to an internal zone with exclusive resources, practical tutorials and training records.

Registration is free of charge and open to technical staff of forest owners‘ organisations from all over Europe.

By joining Laurus, you will strengthen your expertise and get the opportunity to make data-driven decisions. You’ll be able to bring more value to your PS members, innovate with less risk, and see what’s working in practice for others.

Topics include adaptation to climate change, recovery after calamities, digitization of inventory (GIS, drones), wood certification, planning of logging with a lower impact, close-to-nature management, energy use of biomass, cross-border cooperation, financing and grants, or work with market data.

You can get involved here: https://www.laurusnetwork.eu/registration/

Be smart, innovative and courageous. Be Laurus.
